# Generate an invoice — Blink

Botize method — `blink.generate_invoice` (action).

Generates a new BTC Lightning invoice in your Blink account, including the BOLT11 code, payment hash and QR.

This is an action: it runs as a step of a task. Several can be chained.

## Fields you set

The field's internal name, its type and the values it accepts. These fields accept `{{...}}` tags from earlier steps.

- `amount` *(string)* — Amount in satoshis to request
- `description` *(string)* — Short memo or description shown to the payer

## Output variables

Data this step makes available. Reference them in later steps with the double-brace tag.

- `{{payment_request}}` *(text)* — Lightning invoice (BOLT11). The Lightning invoice in BOLT11 format, used to receive the payment.
- `{{payment_hash}}` *(text)* — Payment hash. Unique identifier for the invoice.
- `{{payment_url}}` *(text)* — Payment Lightning URL. URL in lightning: format, compatible with wallets.
- `{{qr_image_url}}` *(text)* — QR image URL. Direct URL to a QR code image that encodes the invoice.
