# Get the steps recorded in the browser — Google Chrome

Botize method — `btzchrome.get_recording` (action).

Returns as a recipe the steps the user recorded in their browser with the Botize extension (press REC, do the steps, press STOP): the last recording of that browser, ready to adapt and run with "Execute actions in the browser" (execute_commands). Use it when the user says they recorded or showed how they do something. What they typed in the fields is not included.

This is an action: it runs as a step of a task. Several can be chained.

## Fields you set

The field's internal name, its type and the values it accepts. These fields accept `{{...}}` tags from earlier steps.

- `mb_switch` *(boolean)* — Rules
- `mb_outputvars_switch` *(boolean)* — Customize tags

It also accepts repeatable field groups, with these prefixes: `mb_filters_*`. These are composite components (buttons, filters, keyboards); the trailing number is set by the user as they are added.

## Output variables

Data this step makes available. Reference them in later steps with the double-brace tag.

- `{{recording}}` *(text)* — Recording (recipe). The steps the user did, as a recipe JSON ({"steps": [...]}): the value of the Actions field of "Execute actions in the browser". Each type step comes with its field and an empty text.
- `{{start_url}}` *(text)* — Start URL. The page where the user started recording
- `{{recorded_at}}` *(text)* — Recorded at. When the user pressed STOP (UTC) and how long ago
- `{{steps_count}}` *(int)* — Number of steps. How many steps the recording has
