# Find the Most Similar Text — Similar Text

Botize method — `btzsimilartext.similar_text_to_json_list` (action).

Compare a text to the contents of a text list or a JSON list and get the minimum and maximum similarity scores.

This is an action: it runs as a step of a task. Several can be chained.

## Fields you set

The field's internal name, its type and the values it accepts. These fields accept `{{...}}` tags from earlier steps.

- `text` *(string)* — Main text to compare
- `input_source` *(string, one of: "json_list" = JSON formatted list; "strings" = List of texts (one per line), default: "json_list")* — Candidate texts
- `alternatives` *(string)*
- `case_sensitive` *(boolean)* — Case sensitive
- `exclude_exact_matches` *(boolean)* — Exclude exact matches
- `similar_text` *(boolean)* — Similar text (as described in Programming Classics: Implementing the World's Best Algorithms by Oliver (ISBN 0-131-00413-1))
- `similar_length` *(boolean)* — Similar length
- `similar_words` *(boolean)* — Similar words
- `min_match` *(string, one of: "0" = 0%; "2" = 2%; "4" = 4%; "6" = 6%; "8" = 8%; "10" = 10%; "20" = 20%; "30" = 30%; "40" = 40%; "50" = 50%; "60" = 60%; "70" = 70%; "80" = 80%; "90" = 90%; "100" = 100%)* — Minimum match threshold

It also accepts repeatable field groups, with these prefixes: `candidate_strings_counter_*`, `candidate_strings_text_*`. These are composite components (buttons, filters, keyboards); the trailing number is set by the user as they are added.

## Output variables

- `{{min_score}}` *(decimal)* — Minimum score. Minimum similarity score between the texts
- `{{max_score}}` *(decimal)* — Maximum score. Maximum similarity score between the texts
- `{{min_score_text}}` *(text)* — Less similar Text. Text with the lowest similarity score
- `{{max_score_text}}` *(text)* — Most similar Text. Text with the highest similarity score
- `{{total_matches}}` *(decimal)* — Total matches. Total matches found above the minimum threshold
