# Instantly when a message is edited — Telegram Bot

Botize method — `telegrambot.webhook_edited_message` (trigger).

It is triggered every time a user edits a message sent to the bot, or a message in a group/channel where the bot is located. New messages do not trigger it, only edits.

This is a trigger: it starts the task. A task has exactly one.

## Fields you set

The field's internal name, its type and the values it accepts. These fields accept `{{...}}` tags from earlier steps.

- `chat_source` *(string, one of: "any" = Task runs when a message is edited in any chat; "target" = Task runs when a message is edited in a specific user, group or channel, default: "any")*
- `chat_id` *(string)*
- `mb_outputvars_switch` *(boolean)* — Customize tags

## Output variables

Data this step makes available. Reference them in later steps with the double-brace tag.

- `{{from_id}}` *(int)* — From User Id. ID of the user who edited the message.
- `{{message_id}}` *(int)* — Message Id. ID of the edited message. It is the same ID the message had when it was first sent.
- `{{message_thread_id}}` *(int)* — Message Thread Id. Thread ID if the message comes from a group with various topics.
- `{{from_name}}` *(text)* — From name. First name of the user who edited the message.
- `{{from_username}}` *(text)* — From username. Username of the user who edited the message.
- `{{chat_id}}` *(text)* — From Chat Id. ID of the chat where the message was edited.
- `{{text}}` *(text)* — Edited message. Text of the message after the edit.
- `{{date}}` *(int)* — Original message date. Unix time when the message was originally sent.
- `{{edit_date}}` *(int)* — Edit date. Unix time when the message was edited.
- `{{language_code}}` *(text)* — Language code. IETF language tag of the user's Telegram client ('es', 'en-GB', 'pt-BR'). Optional: Telegram only sends it when the user has a language set, so it may arrive empty.
