API Credentials for Telegram User

Guide to obtaining tokens, keys, and connections.

To connect your personal Telegram account to Botize, you need to obtain an API ID and an API Hash from the Telegram website. Below we show you how to get them step by step.

Get the API ID and API Hash

  1. 1

Go to https://my.telegram.org from your browser.

  2. 2

If you are not logged in, enter your phone number with the country code (for example '+34612345678'), click 'Next', and enter the verification code you will receive in your Telegram app.

  3. 3

Once inside, click on 'API development tools'.

  4. 4

If this is your first time, you will be asked to fill out a form to create an application. Fill in the fields as follows:

  5. 5

In 'App title', enter any name, for example 'Botize'.

  6. 6

In 'Short name', enter a short name (letters and numbers only, between 5 and 32 characters), for example 'botize'.

  7. 7

    In 'URL', enter: https://botize.com

  8. 8

    In 'Platform', select 'Other'.

  9. 9

In 'Description', enter a brief description, for example 'Automation platform'.

  10. 10

    Click the 'Create application' button.

  11. 11

As a result, Telegram will show your 'App api_id' (a number) and your 'App api_hash' (a string of letters and numbers). Save this information in a safe place.

Connect your account in Botize

  1. 1

Enter the 'API ID' (the number you obtained in the previous step).

  2. 2

Enter the 'API Hash' (the string of letters and numbers).

  3. 3

Enter your phone number with the country code, without spaces or dashes (for example '+34612345678').

  4. 4

Click the 'Authorize' button. Telegram will send a verification code to your Telegram app.

  5. 5

Enter the received code. If you have two-step verification enabled, also enter your Telegram password (the 'Cloud Password' you set in Settings > Privacy > Two-Step Verification). If you don’t have it enabled, leave the password field empty.
