API Credentials for TikTok

Guide to obtaining tokens, keys, and connections.

Follow these simple steps to create an app in TikTok’s developer portal, enable the Sandbox environment, and obtain your 'API Client' (Client ID) and 'API Secret' (Client Secret). You don’t need technical knowledge—just your TikTok account and a few minutes.

API Client (Client ID) and API Secret (Client Secret)

    Go to https://developers.tiktok.com and sign in with your TikTok account.

    Click the 'Connect an app' button.

    A form will appear with the field 'App name.' Enter a name (for example, 'botize') and click 'Confirm.'

    You’ll be redirected to a page showing your 'Client ID' and 'Client Secret.' Copy both and store them in a safe place.

    In the top-left corner, click 'Sandbox.'

    Click the 'Create Sandbox' button.

    In the 'Sandbox name' field, type 'botize' and click 'Confirm.'

    You’ll return to the page where your 'Client ID' and 'Client Secret' are displayed.

    Upload an image to be used as your TikTok app’s icon.

    In the 'Category' field, choose a category (for example, 'Productivity').

    In the 'Description' field, write a brief description (for example, 'Task automation').

    In 'Terms of Service URL' and 'Privacy Policy URL,' enter the URLs on your website (or your company’s) where these policies are published.

    In the 'Platforms' section, select 'Web.'

    In 'Web/Desktop URL,' enter your website or business URL.

    Click the '+ Add products' button. Several options will appear.

    Add 'Login Kit' and 'Content Posting API' by clicking '+ Add' under each.

    Click 'Done' to confirm your product selection.

    Back in the main form, under 'Login Kit,' select 'Web' and enter this callback URL: https://botize.com/callback/tiktok

    Scroll to 'Content Posting API' and enable the 'Direct Post' option.

    Scroll down to the 'Target users' section and click 'Add account.'

    Confirm linking your TikTok account to the app. Make sure to use a TikTok account set to private (you can create a dedicated private account) until your app is certified. Click 'Continue' to accept.

    Click 'Apply Changes' to save everything.

    All set. Your app is created and linked to your TikTok account. You can now enter your Client ID and Client Secret in Botize to connect TikTok and automate tasks.
