API Credentials for WordPress
Guide to obtaining tokens, keys, and connections.
To connect to the WordPress API you only need your website’s address and to approve the connection when WordPress shows the authorization screen. Below are the detailed steps.
WordPress Site URL
-
1
Open your browser and visit your WordPress site; the domain that appears in the address bar (for example, https://mysite.com) is your WordPress Site URL.
-
2
Verify that your site loads correctly and that the REST API is not blocked by security plugins or by your hosting provider before continuing.
-
3
Copy that address (include https:// and omit any trailing slash) into the “WordPress Site URL” field that Botize shows when it asks you to connect to WordPress.
-
4
Click “Connect” in Botize and a new tab will open, where you will see your WordPress asking you to log in if you haven’t already.
-
5
You will see a page titled “Authorize the Botize application” with a button to approve; click “Approve Application.”
-
6
The WordPress tab will close and you will return to Botize, which will display a message confirming that the account has been linked.
-
7
Done! Botize is now connected to your WordPress and you can create, update, or read posts.
