In detail

What it does and what it's for

Automating tasks with the AliExpress Associates integration in Botize allows you to efficiently retrieve a list of up to 10 relevant products based on a specific keyword. This functionality is ideal for affiliates looking to enhance their content with updated and pertinent products, thereby optimizing their marketing strategy.

By utilizing this integration, you can access detailed information for each product, including its ID, URL, image, title, original price, and sale price. Additionally, you have the option to filter products from the entire AliExpress catalog or limit the search to the PLAZA platform, which focuses on products with shipping and warranty in Spain. This flexibility enables you to tailor your automations according to the needs of your audience and target market.

  • AliExpress Smart Match Product provides highly relevant and dynamic product recommendations for remarketing by user's device ID.
  • You can specify a keyword to optimize your search.
  • To access the Smart Match Product catalog it is necessary to request access to AliExpress Advanced API .
  • AliExpress returns a single price for each of its products, usually the sale price before applying possible discounts.
  • You can exclude products that share very similar names from the results.
  • You can prioritize the diversity of categories.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to fill in the 'Tracking Id' field?

The Tracking Id field of the step (tracking_id in the task definition) is not always necessary: it depends on your AliExpress affiliate account.

If your account has a single Tracking ID, you can leave the field empty: AliExpress applies that Tracking ID on its own and the automation works.

If your account has more than one Tracking ID, AliExpress cannot decide which one to use and it refuses to build the short affiliate link. What happens then depends on the step:
  • Steps that read a product from AliExpress (Get product information, and the searches) publish the affiliate link in its long format instead of stopping. The task keeps working, and the execution log tells you why the link is long.

  • Steps that do not read a product (Modify the affiliate URLs in a text, API Request) have no long format to fall back on, so they fail with the error TrackingId input parameter error.
You may also want to fill it in even with a single Tracking ID, if you want to keep a task in its own campaign and tell its clicks and commissions apart in your AliExpress reports.

Where to find your Tracking IDs: in the AliExpress affiliate portal, go to the Account section and then to the Tracking ID subsection. All the Tracking IDs of your account are listed there. Copy the one you want to use and paste it into the field. The one AliExpress creates by default is usually called default.

Write one of the Tracking IDs that really exist in your account: a value that does not belong to it has the same effect as an empty field.

Why are my AliExpress links not shortened?

AliExpress gives the same affiliate link in two formats. Both are real affiliate links: both open the product and both pay you your commission.

Short format — about 40 characters, with /e/ in the path:
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c3PPrY37

Long format — about 1000 characters, the same domain but with /s/ in the path:
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/s/fwx308cRD9Eny963e3KDdYxyIpNj8TXVr7saiF9Um5rMUg1kZtJALL…

Botize always asks AliExpress for the short format first. AliExpress only builds it when the step has a valid Tracking Id (the tracking_id field of the step). If the step has no Tracking Id, or the Tracking Id does not exist in your AliExpress account, Botize publishes the long format instead of stopping the task, and writes the reason in the execution log.

So, to get the short format, write your Tracking Id in the step. You find it in the AliExpress affiliate portal, in Account and then Tracking ID.

The long format is not a fault in itself. Its only practical effect is the length of the message, which can matter if you publish to a channel with a limit on characters.

Troubleshooting

Common Errors

TrackingId input parameter error

Currently, you have more than one Tracking ID associated with your AliExpress account. To ensure this automation works correctly, you need to edit the task and specify which Tracking ID you want to use in the 'Tracking ID' field.

If you need to check your Tracking IDs before proceeding, you can find them in the AliExpress affiliate portal. Simply go to the 'Account' section and select the 'Tracking ID' subsection. There, you will see all the available Tracking IDs.

Api access frequency exceeds the limit. this ban will last 1 seconds

You have exceeded the request limit allowed by the AliExpress API within a short period of time. This usually happens when too many consecutive requests are made, either from a single task or from multiple automations using the same account.

AliExpress applies a brief temporary penalty (e.g., a 1-second forced wait) before allowing new requests. This type of block is common when traffic becomes too intense.

We recommend spacing out the executions slightly or reducing the frequency of API calls to avoid this message.
