In detail
What it does and what it's for
This integration allows you to randomly extract rows from a Google Sheets spreadsheet, facilitating data selection without manual intervention. You can set filters to include or exclude rows based on specific values, thereby optimizing the process according to your needs.
Additionally, the function memorizes the last 10 extracted rows, preventing repetitions and ensuring a truly random selection. This tool is ideal for automating tasks that require unpredictable and efficient data selection.
- You can exclude rows that contain or do not contain certain words or values.
How it works
How it fits in an automated task
A Botize task pairs a trigger with one or more actions. This piece is one of them.
This is the trigger
Every time this event happens, the task kicks off on its own. You don't have to do anything.
Add one or more actions
What should happen next, in this app or in any of the 200+ connectable apps.
Turn it on and forget it
The task runs on its own from then on. If something's off, tweak it or we'll help you.

Extract random rows avoiding repetitions
Although the rows are selected in strict random order, we memorize the last 10 rows extracted, thus avoiding reselecting them. In the case of spreadsheets with less than 10 rows, the memory is reset when there are no new rows to select.

Common Errors
Quota exceeded for quota metric 'Read requests' and limit 'Read requests per minute per user'
The quota and the limit of 'Read requests per minute per user' has been reached. Please note that the Google Sheets API currently imposes a maximum allowance of 60 queries per minute per user
HTTP Internal error code 28
The request has exceeded the maximum timeout of 10 seconds while waiting for a response from Google Sheets. This could be due to several reasons:
The spreadsheet is too large, which can cause Google Sheets to respond slowly if it contains hundreds or thousands of records or a lot of text in its various columns.
Complex formulas have been used in some cells. Some Excel formulas may take several seconds to complete, or there may be scripts, applications, or custom functions associated with different cells that require additional time to run, including external calls, which can slow down the response of Google Sheets. You can consider checking the 'Do not process cell formulas' option in the task settings.
The specified sheet does not exist in the spreadsheet
The automatic task has provided a sheet name or number that does not exist in the spreadsheet.
Please verify that there is indeed a sheet with the same name or number in the spreadsheet as specified in the task.
FAILED_PRECONDITION - This operation is not supported for this document
This error usually means that the file you're using is not in Google Sheets format, but instead saved as an XLSX (Excel) file.
To fix it, simply open the document in Google Drive and choose File > Save as Google Sheets. Once the file is in the correct format, Botize will be able to access it and run the automation properly.
