Common Errors
Chat not found
This error can mean several things: 1. The chat ID is incorrect or does not exist.
Check that it is written correctly. Some IDs include the '-' symbol at the beginning or the '-100' prefix. You can see the list of all chats and IDs you have access to by clicking the 'View chats' link inside your automation task.
2. Your Telegram account does not have access to that chat.
If it is a private group or channel, you must be a member of it. If you were removed or left the chat, you no longer have access even if the ID is correct.
3. You are trying to message a user your account has never interacted with before.
Telegram's API for personal accounts (MTProto) only allows sending messages to users you already have some kind of relationship with: a saved contact, a shared group or channel, or a user you previously searched by their @username. If you only have the numeric ID of a user who does not meet any of these conditions, Telegram will reject it.
Can't access the chat
The chat ID provided in the automated task may be correct, but it seems you don't have permission to access it.
You'll need an invitation link or to be added to the group or channel by one of the chat administrators in order to view its content.
Note that some chat IDs may have the '-' symbol in front or the number '-100'.
You can view a list of all the chats and IDs you have access to by clicking on the 'View chats' link within your automated task.
The channel no longer exists or it is public but does not have the preview option enabled
The URL of the channel you have specified in the task belongs to a channel that no longer exists or Telegram does not allow previewing the content, which is necessary for Botize to read the messages.
Telegram may disable the preview for some channels based on the content they publish.
Telegram can disable the preview of certain channels based on the content they publish. You can confirm if this is the cause by opening the channel link in a browser's incognito mode and clicking the 'Preview channel' link that Telegram displays. If the channel's content is not displayed, it's because Telegram has disabled this function.
Telegram invitation links are not supported
You have specified a Telegram invitation link to a private group or channel in the automated task, which is not valid for this specific case.
I receive the 'ERROR' message when completing the 'New Application' form on my.telegram.org as part of the process to connect my personal Telegram account to Botize.
If you receive an error message while trying to connect your personal Telegram account to Botize, specifically at the step where you need to create an application on the my.telegram.org website, the issue may be related to the data you are entering in the form.
Instead of writing 'Botize' in the 'App Title' and 'Short Name' fields or entering 'https://botize.com' in the URL field, we suggest using a different name and a URL that belongs to you, such as the one for your business. This usually resolves the issue and allows you to proceed with the connection process.
